Salaryman’s Winter

Although Spring is just around the corner here (actually it’s officially tomorrow!) but today it is rainy and feels much like Winter. I suppose that’s fitting for the end of this Winter, as it’s been quite cold and we even got a lot of snow. I took this photo during the first snow in Tokyo this year. Although it didn’t really stick or accumulate at all as it did later on, it still makes for an interesting scene, especially in Tokyo. This particular salaryman didn’t appear to be bothered by the fact that he had neither a coat or an umbrella. Perhaps his tummy was full of hot ramen or udon. Regardless, I loved the way the light from these shops was working for this photo. Not only did it reflect nicely off the wet concrete, but it also illuminated the falling snowflakes and the salaryman’s face. A great combination for some wintery street photography.
