Last week I got together with fellow photographer Anthony Wood and we headed down to Kamakura and Enoshima for some Spring photography. Unfortunately most of the sakura were well past their prime but we still managed to get some shots we enjoyed, I think. When we got to Enoshima (after climbing and descending untold number of stairs) we settled along the rocky coast to shoot Mt Fuji at sunset and in general enjoy the atmosphere of that area. This kind of place is a perfect spot for using an ND (neutral density) filter, and I’ve always wanted to give one a try – thankfully Anthony had one and let me borrow his for some shots. Now, I’ve literally never used one before this and unfortunately I had forgotten my shutter release which means I was limited to 30 second shots, but I’m still quite happy with how the shots turned out. I can definitely add an ND filter to my list of photography accessories to buy! The only problem I’m really having is this – I can’t tell which I like more, the color or monochrome shot. Which do you prefer?
