About The Yamanote Line Photography Workshop
The Yamanote Line is one of the most important train lines in Japan. The line's route circles through some of the most important areas of Tokyo, making it a convenient means of getting around the city. In this one-day workshop, you'll join professional photographer Les Taylor as he takes you around the city using the Yamanote Line, seeing the sights of Tokyo with your camera. Along the way, Les will show you how to create incredible images using professional techniques. The group will photograph all kinds of different scenery, from back streets of Tokyo to expansive scenes overlooking the city and everything in between. This is a great way to improve your photography while enjoy the sights of Tokyo. Don't miss this unique opportunity!
About Les Taylor
Les Taylor is an American photographer with abundant experience photographing Japan. His work has appeared in publications like National Geographic Traveler Magazine and Jetstar Magazine, and has been featured by websites including Trover and Smugmug. He has also done photo assignments for travel agencies such as Japan Travel. In addition to his experience leading photography workshops, Les has nearly 10 years of experience as a resident of Japan - so not only does he know the country well, but he also speaks Japanese, making him the perfect guide for this workshop. Les looks forward to sharing this unique experience with you!
Date & Schedule
This workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 10th, 2019, from 9:00am to 7:00pm. We will be visiting a number of different locations throughout the city, including locations in Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ueno, and more. Participants will be sent more information prior to the workshop. At the end of the workshop, we will enjoy dinner and a post-processing session together.
What We'll Cover
During this one-day workshop, the group will cover a number of different kinds of scenes throughout the cities. We'll wander small streets with unique Tokyo views, as well as photograph from above looking out over the city. Les will show you how he has created some of his best images that have been featured both in print and online. We'll cover subjects such as composition and color, and learn to create everything from epic cityscapes to artistic abstract images. Throughout the workshop, Les will be available to help you learn how to better use the equipment you have, so you can get the most from your camera.
Cost
