Postcard Tokyo from the World Trade Center

A couple of nights ago I took a visit to Tokyo’s World Trade Center. I had heard they were pretty lax about their tripod policy, and with a great view of the city, it seemed like a good stop for the evening. I got quite a few pictures I like which I’ll be sharing over the coming weeks I’m sure. This wasn’t my favorite, but I think it gives a good idea of how nice...

Matsudo Sidestreet & Capturing The Mood

One of the goals I’ve had for this year is to try to capture the feeling of Japan better, and with that in mind I spent some time walking around my own town of Matsudo yesterday evening. It’s one thing to capture a lovely landscape or cityscape, but those are a dime a dozen and while I enjoy taking them (quite a bit actually), they don’t really share what it’s like to live here –...

Autumn Leaves on Green Moss in Kamakura

Abstract Photo of Buildings

Squared Off Sky

This photo comes from downtown Tokyo, just up the road from Tokyo Station in fact. It was pretty cloudy this day but at the time there was some light shining through which made for some nice lighting on these buildings. I really like the way the lines work in this shot, and how shaped off the whole thing is. Camera: Nikon D7000 Lens: Nikon 35mm f/1.8G Shot Info: f/9 | 1/125sec | ISO200 | 35mm

Jitensha

The other day I went to the Bunkyo Civic Center in Tokyo to take some morning photos of Mt Fuji. I had never been before but I’ve seen enough photos from the building to know I wanted to take a stop by sometime. Unfortunately, the weather upon entering the train and the weather upon exiting the subway were significantly different. I could still see a lot, but Fuji was completely covered in clouds. But, I...
